"This is a hard post to write, one that I didn't see coming so soon. But the truth of the matter is that our little rescue is in trouble, and unfortunately there is not a lot we can do to save it." - October 10th, 2023 - Blog Post: We Might Be Closing The Rescue
"The motion for CPU24-0003 has been approved for ARK Pet Rescue to move to 514 E First St." - October 10th, 2024 - Newberg Community Planning Meeting
"My hearts been hurting these past few weeks as the rescue faces the reality of closing. I can't fathom a life where this rescue isn't around. Helping our community, and communities far beyond us.....if you are not in a place to become a donor, I ask that you pray for us. We believe in a good God, and that prayer works. I also believe that Gods plan is not always our plan, and I have peace in that His was are greater than our ways." - October 19th, 2023 - Blog Post: We Need Help
"What an answered prayer today was. We are back open for visitors, and today was such an amazing day welcoming everyone back! We hope you guys enjoyed the beauty of this space." - October 19th, 2024 - Grand Opening Day of ARK Pet Rescue's New Facility
I don't find it to be a coincidence that exactly a year after two of the most heartbreaking blog posts I have ever had to post, we have our answer to our building dilemma. This past year has pushed me in more ways that I could have ever imagined.
I really don't try to keep my faith in God a secret, and my heart is that someone else going through the chaos of life, might stumble upon this little rescue (and blog) and experience a God of peace. A God who cares for the animals. A God who even in darkness, never leaves.
I strongly believe that we have seen the Lord's faithfulness through this whole process, and if any of you want to grab coffee and hear the whole story and all the little details, I would love to sit with you and share. But there is too much to share in a little blog post.
On October 19th, 2023 my heart was breaking with the reality of the closing of the rescue, exactly one year later on October 19th, 2024, we got our 'YES'.
In all honesty, I often find it easier to have faith in a God I cannot see, than in the people around me. I feel that God knew that, and to me, one of the most amazing things I have witnessed is how God has used PEOPLE to answer this prayer.
Our new space is a space designed to serve as a beacon of hope and healing for both animals and people in our community. This building represents a significant milestone in our journey to expand our reach and deepen our impact.
Our new home is designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for rescue animals, ensuring they receive the care, love, and rehabilitation they need to find their forever homes. Beyond being a haven for animals, this new space is also a sanctuary for people—offering a place where members of the community can connect, volunteer, and experience the transformative power of animal companionship.
At ARK Pet Rescue, we believe that healing isn’t just for the animals we save but also for the people who walk through our doors. This new building is more than just a rescue facility; it’s a community hub where individuals can find comfort and connection. Whether it’s through spending time with our animals, participating in community events, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, we hope to create a space that fosters emotional wellness and inspires compassion.
By uniting people and pets, we aim to build a stronger, more empathetic community that supports one another and creates a brighter future for all. Together, we can make this dream of hope, peace, and healing a reality.
